About Morris County NJ
Morris County, New Jersey, located in the northern part of the state, has a rich historical and cultural heritage dating back to colonial times. Established in 1739 and named after Colonel Lewis Morris, the first royal governor of New Jersey, the county played a crucial role during the American Revolutionary War, serving as the winter encampment site for George Washington’s army at Jockey Hollow in Morristown.
